Cairdeas [19h00 - 20h30]

Now, in the forth year going, we will have the surprisingly first Irish band playing at the Wackelsteinfestival. In the light of this premiere we are delighted to be able to welcome the session approved traditional group "Cairdeas" around Steáfán Hannigans. Cairdeas combines traditional songs, melodies and stories from the British Isles, Canada, and more.

Jararaja [21h15 - 22h45]

The music of Jararaja eludes definition even more so than their name, which cannot simply be translated or assigned a single meaning. Rooted in Slovenian folk traditions, their music is playfully in tune with the time and space in which they create. Jararaja is a band that manages to induce copious associations ranging from mercurial, nearly raplike, perfectly attuned singing to melodiously driven folk on to purest classic grace, and that reach from there further into the fields of the fantastic. A journey into the realm of the joy of life, of dance as well as astounded standing still while listening.

Pan [23h30 - 01h00]

Folk does not always have to be violin and bagpipes. We don't mean the somewhat overly used phrase of "modern influences". PAN goes one step further up to the limits of what can offhandedly be called "Folk". Pedro Duarte's virtuous flute hooks up to the distortion panel and triumphantly overruns each cliché of mellifluous flute tunes. Andi Neumeister's guitar joins in in psychedelic harmony, and woven into each of the music fibers we find the groove of drums and bass. Hark their music and experience the shiny new garments Folk dons in PAN's wake.
