Singer-/Songwriter - Openstage [14h00-16h30]

Following the lead of last year we will once more open our stage on Saturday afternoon for everybody who wants to seize the chance to present his or her musical contribution to the Wackelsteinfestival.

Those of you, who are interested, should send an e-mail to Florian (Floh) Kargl (florian.kargl@gmx.at). Unfortunately it lies in the nature of things that the time of the open stage will be limited. Please forgive us if you wanted to participate but found that there is no time left for your contribution. There will always be a chance in the following year.

We look forward to hear from you - if there are questions, either Florian or we will be delighted to answer them.

Starymonetti [17h-18h30]

Right after the Dance Workshop you can apply what you have learned straight away to the music of "Starymonetti" - that are Marinette Bonnert (B, diatonic accordion), Stephan "Stoney" Steiner (A, violin, nyckel harp, hurdy-gurdy, accordion), Christian Troger (I, guitar) and Laurenz Schiffermüller (A, percussion).

Arceann [19h30-21h00]

Full of strength and pride, wild and charismatic Arceann will open the evening program. The music of the band is dominated by the unique and penetrating sound of Irish bag pipes and by Paddy Campbell's expressive and powerful voice. Arceann has found the nerve of Irish Celtic music in songs and tunes, which range from battle to rebellion, from love to drunken revelry.

Padraic/Paddy Campbell (vocals, flute, whistle, bodhran, percussion)

Antonia Wernig (Irish bag pipe, whistle, bouzouki, cello, vocals)

Andreas Neumeister (guitar, vocals)

Paul Dangl (violin, vocals)

Malinky [21h30-23h]

Once again we will bring one of the best Folk bands from Scotland onto the stage. Malinky will rock you with a rich repertoire of masterly sung and played tunes. Their music comprises a large range of contemporary original compositions as well as traditional Scottish Folk music. In a most enjoyable way it will crawl beneath your skin, touch your heart, twitch your legs and light your eyes.

Jon Bews (fiddle, backing vocals)

Steve Byrne (vocals, guitar, cittern, bouzouki)

Mark Dunlop (vocals, bodhrán, whistles, flute, uillean pipes)

Fiona Hunter (vocals, cello)

Ewan MacPherson (guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, octave mandolin, jew's harp, backing vocals)

Harlequin's Glance [23h30-01h]

At the end of an, admittedly, very folky day we will end the (official) program of this evening with, well, quite different band. Their influences range from Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and Nick Cave to Louis Armstrong and Klezmer music. What might at first sight look a little confusing is in fact a unique and intriguing mixture of a multitude of musical influences.

You can expect rip-roaring music, catching lyrics and the enchanting and unmistakable voice of Gernot Feldner. Prepare for a tour through landscapes of Songwriting, Rock, Pop and Folk music with various detours into uncharted domains. Each rocking song, each dream-woven word vibrates with the pulse of the tunes, which will make you swirl and spin.

Dance or relax - enjoy the wonderful finish of a hopefully perfect day.

Stephan "Stony" Steiner (violin, octave violin, diatonic accordion, hurdy-gurdy, nyckelharp)

Gernot Feldner (acoustic guitar, piano, mandolin, mouth organ, vocals)

Alexander Gantz (E-guitar)

Martin "Tino" Mixan (contrabass)

Daniel Klemmer (percussion, drum set)
