Serendipity [19h-20h30]

This young band from Salzburg took part in last year's open stage at the first Wackelsteinfestival. They elated the audience so much that we told them immediately after their gig that we would like them to play in the main program this year. At this year's festival they will have the opportunity to present their growing repertoire with their typical vim, drive, high spirit and love for music. You can expect powerful Irish tunes topped by masterly singing.

Rise your glass and rise your voice, swing your legs in blissful dance, and cheer in unison with us the start of the main program of this year's festival.

Rainer Maislinger (vocals, guitar, mandolin, Irish bouzouki, percussion)

Monika Strasser (vocals, violin, flute, whistle, bass, bodhran)

Christian Redl (vocals, Irish bouzouki, bodrhan, guitar, cajon, bass, didgeridoo)

Lori Watson Three [21h-22h30]

Folk from the Scottish borderlands ranging from innovative original compositions with Scandinavian and American influences to traditional Scottish tunes. Centered around Lori Watson this band is despite the youth of the musicians widely acclaimed by Scottish press. This will be their first and, for now, only act in Austria and your chance to hear the wonderful music of this promising band.

Lori Watson (violin, vocals)

Innes Watson (guitar)

Fiona Young (accordion)

Besh o droM [23h-00h30]

Speedy tunes from Hungary, which could in principle, like so many things, be described as Folk music. Another tempting term is "Balkan music" but even this huge category is too small and limiting for a band like Besh o droM. Their music pumps a spike of adrenalin right into your heart. Prepare yourself for vivid and expertly played music with electronic elements and far spread influences of Transylvanian, Jewish, Afghan, Egyptian, Libanese, Armenian, Bulgarian, Romanian and Greek tunes.

Even if you have not danced up to now, you will find it hard to resist the itching in your feet and the swing in your hips.
