The Bands

Because of the change in our band line-up (which fortunately worked well)
Arceann played earlier: as second band on friday. Once again we apologize
in case you only came on saturday and thereby missed this great band. The
songs of the celts - way up close.
The speedy guys from Hungary, with whom we had a minor misunderstanding
regarding the schedule of our festival, such that they only arrived on
saturday. Although they got lost at the route diversion near Horn, they
arrived just on time. They got out of their bus, made sound check and started
playing as if a devil was on their heels. After the brilliant performance of
Malinky Besh o droM put the lid on saturday and made this day memorable
for us and hopefully for you as well.
After the diabolically wild morning pint with Tuivelsminne and after
the musically excellent but slightly calmer sunday afternoon with
Gaismaier Schrammeln and W.i.t.Ch. FRESCH concluded this year's program
with a top performance. Once more legs were shaked, Floh demolished
his guitar most spectacularly, and the magic of the guitar music of FRESCH
opened a last cosy night, in which we continued until the early hours to
empty our last reserves of drinks.
Actually they should have played as the last band on saturday. Because of
our change in the program Harlequin's Glance centered around Gernot Feldner
opened the evening program, throughout which many of you never stopped
dancing. Smoothly this combo rocked us into the dusk of a night, which,
if we had had a say, would never have had to end.
The trio from the Scottish Borderlands on friday concluded a rather folky,
wonderful evening. During their performance the clouds of rain and
thunderstorm started to loom around the festival, but they dared not to
seriously soak us before the music was over. Then the fun went on inside of
the various stands until deep into the morning. A great kick-off for the
second Wackelsteinfestival.
After the short but once more impressive opening of the festival with
the children of the primary school of Amaliendorf together with many of the
musicians of the legendary Bluespumpm on friday Serendipity opened the
evening program. Although there are now only three of them, they started
this year's Wackelsteinfestival with undiminished energy and enthusiasm as
well as with loads of new songs.
Just like last year many of you took part in our dance workshop - it's always
a pleasure for us if you have fun with it. Unfortunately we do not have a
lot of photos of the workshop, but it is clear from the few we have that
the people involved had a great deal of fun in dancing and playing music
down there. If you should have any more photos: they'll be welcome any time.
