Bands 2009

We started this year's festival with Irish music. Unfortunately, the singer of the band had become sick. Still, we hope that you had a good start into the fourth Wackelsteinfestival with Cairdeas.
The show went on with music from Slovenia - traditional songs, less traditional tunes and also straight away unconventional music - at least for our otherwise more folky program. We had fun in the variety, and we hope you did as well. Unfortunately, we did not catch a lot of pictures of Jararaja - maybe one of you can help us there.
A marvelous band, which I, in my tiredness and to my geat chagrin, announced in an exceedingly embarassing way. This band was very dear to me, and they have accomplished one of the great performances of this festival. Judging from your reactions, I found that you saw it the same way.
The rain had just stopped minutes before. Then the sound check began, music filled the rainsoaked forest once again. The Irish Rovers made us dance, made us laugh, and they made us feel all warm, happy and comfortable again - a great start into the evening's program when we had already thought that all was lost in gusts of wind and rain.
For me this was one of the highlights of the festival. After the Irish Rovers had relieved us of the heavy weight the rain had had us bowing, Danar made us soar through the evening on joy's airy wings. A band as great as you could possibly wish for.
